How To Gain Strength Naturally
Robin Williams-Why We Loved Him
WE LOVED ROBIN WILLIAMS-AND HERE IS WHY
Just think about it, most of us didn't know him personally, yet we were profoundly affected by the death of Robin Williams. What are some of the reasons that his death affected us so greatly? Why? What effect did he have on us that caused our tears to shed and our hearts to break when we found out he had died? It seems to me that there are two major reasons he affected us so strongly:
1. He helped us bring out our own best emotions. After all, who among us wouldn't like to be more loving and spiritual and funny and caring and sometimes even angry, and all the other things he was? He was a living breathing example of the life of sharing of emotions, of not hiding them. What we saw was what we got, and usually we were enthralled by his personality, in no matter what situation he found himself. It was almost as if he was saying to us: you too can be like me. You too can show your emotions, there is nothing to afraid of. Watch me, I will show you.
2. He had secrets, just like us. He committed suicide, and we knew about his addictions and we knew about his therapies, but there were other secrets that we couldn't have known about. Deep, dark and dirty secrets that he shared with no one. Perhaps not even with himself. What pain he must have endured, sometimes knowing that he was out-of-control, and there was nothing he could do about it. How awful that must have felt...
The lesson to us should be obvious. We don't know what is going on inside anyone. Just as no one knows what is truly going on inside of us, so we are clueless about others. Sometimes we may think we know, but we don't. We looked at Robin Williams and saw a man with a manic personality, a man who made us laugh. What we did not see was the flip side of him, the depressive part of him, which eventually conquered him and ended his life.
What did we learn from our teacher Robin Williams? Never judge another human being, because what you see on the outside is like the proverbial iceberg. What you don't see is below the surface, often causing great pain and anguish.
Rest in peace, dear friend, we will miss you. And we love you.
Good Trip , Good summer , Good Life
An appealing alternative to the standard road trip adventure that road trip planners might consider this summer is to utilize the train system for the long stretches of highway between destination cities and then renting a car to explore the area. This way, "getting there" becomes its own adventure, especially if your trip includes an overnight stay aboard the train! Plus you get the added bonus of leaving the bulk of the driving to someone else.
There's something about a railway road trip that beckons the pioneer spirit within us. And there's a certain appeal to letting the rhythmic chug-chug-chug of the tracks lull you to sleep. Granted, these sleeping cabins aren't as roomy as regular hotel rooms, but then again, it moves you towards your destination while allowing you to sleep, something you couldn't do with a car or RV unless you alternated driving shifts. And the sleeping cabins are definitely roomier than airline seats!
Family train trip adventures are growing in popularity. Dad can play a marathon game of Monopoly instead of being stuck behind the wheel; Mom can watch a movie with you instead of her riding shotgun to keep the driver on track and alert for the duration. When kids get antsy or hungry, you can round them up for a walk to the dining cab (without losing any traveling mileage).
Explore the train, revel in the changing scenery buzzing by your view, curl up with a good book and maybe take in a catnap. Trains allow you to slow your pace and relax...and isn't that one of the main goals of going on a vacation? Your road trip planner will still be filled with things to do, hotels, car rental and restaurants once you reach your destination.
Amtraks's Superliners have sleeping cars that range from Roomettes (1-2 people), special accessible rooms (1-2), and even bedroom suites (4-6) that includes 2 toilets & 2 showers (usually two bedrooms with the partition removed). Even though we recommend you stay the bulk of your trip in hotels in the cities you want to explore, sleeping overnight on a train is an adventure in itself. Plus, the Sleeper Service price includes all regular meals aboard the train.
Below are a few of the most popular railway destination in the United States. Amtrak has more than 500 destinations so these are just enough to whet your appetite to fill your road trip planner with a brand new adventure. Bon appétit!
* WEST COAST SPECTACULAR - Set aside about 10 days for this vacation, beginning with 2 days/nights in Seattle, an overnight aboard the train, then 3 nights in San Francisco before boarding the train again to head south to Los Angeles for a 3 night stay there.
* JAZZ, BLUES AND ROCK 'N ROLL - This trip will have you rock n rolling from north to south on the fun filled 8 days/7 night adventure. You'll start out in Chicago, spend a couple of nights enjoying famous blues clubs like Buddy Guy's Legends, then aboard Amtrak overnight into Memphis for 2 full days in the birthplace of Rock 'n Roll and then landing in New Orleans for some Cajun cooking to enjoy with your evenings of Jazz.
You can also opt for Railway Day Passes if you want the total freedom of coming and going whenever you please (a fun option for couples): 15- Day Railway Pass: 15 Days (8 segments) $389.00 - Adults, $194.50 - Child (Ages 2-15).

Free Your Mind For Inner Peace and Good Health
Living these days in the 3rd millennium puts a lot of value on the presence of matter, thought, which the mind consists of. When your mind focuses on matter, it will also have stress, panic and apprehensions because living in a material world calls for material security, indulgence and immovability. When we are expected to fulfill a demand, distress, worry and panic set in.
That is not what makes for a happy or healthy life. You would want to live unbound to such necessities and achieve tranquility and ecstasy. This is where meditation comes along as the only thing handy.
Meditation is the removal of everything from your consciousness. When that occurs, your mind becomes calmed and at peace. A still mind brings in the energy to reveal your mind to what is real in contrast to fantasy.
Consciousness is discerning what is present and occurring around us, and our ideas and fantasies, too. Thus, consciousness means your concept of self.
The beauty of nature, seascapes, landscapes, touches us. We are moved by that splendor because we have a past memory of similar splendors of nature. That acknowledgment exists because there had been a previous association.
A lifetime gives us different encounters and notions that, in time, define who we are. We become what we have gone through in experience and thought.
Each person goes through all sorts of experiences and the mind wants more and better experiences, as well as other frameworks, other dimensions. Narrow encounters in life get to be dull and inane, then your mind goes after the utmost endless consciousness.
Meditation is a mental condition where there is absence of experience, time, past, future and the idea of self. This condition entails no cravings or seek the feeling of stability or satisfaction because these are to happen in the future and therefore, connected to time. Notions like these are narrowed down by the idea of time and you must shed them off to attain that condition farther than time. A condition that is so not common.
Meditation, thus, is when the mind contains no will, no desire, no concept of time, therefore the self is no longer apart from everything else. You develop a union with everything. There is no more you, him, her, this, that - no more barriers between you and all else around you.
When meditation is done together with the various Yoga asanas you will get to find direct links and sensitivity to What Is and a clearer perception of the occurrences in the Now.
Yogic asanas loosen up the body making for smooth flow and nourishment of blood and flushing out of body toxins while meditation releases from your consciousness all shades of past encounters, desire for future ones and your sense of self. Incorporating the sequences of yoga and the forms of meditation releases you of all these.
Your consciousness is now revealed, free to take in peace and harmony, calm and riches. This removes you from a condition of hurting and distress to one of overall release.
